Walked into the barn this morning, and there he was.
The black racer.
He's really not big as snakes go, very narrow, but probably between 2-3 feet (I didnt get close enough to check). I just stood there and looked at him...he was on my hay pile. Ive read they are nervous snakes, so I tried to stay calm...dont need no nervous snakes.
He looked at me, I looked at him. I could see his white chinny chin chin. In fact, he was pretty, as snakes go. And calm. He just turned around and slowly went back into his little hole between the hay bales.
So I know where his house is, and I havent seen a mouse or evidence of a mouse in months.
