I'm sure this is hardly an original sentiment, but I am stunned by how quickly those tiny peeps, 25 of whom fit into something the size of a large shoebox just last week, now have little feathered-out WINGS that they are eager to try out in the brooder...the rapidly "shrinking" brooder...which they seem to think is a runway for take-off. There isn't room to fly, and they go crashing into their buddies, causing a big commotion. As it's warm today, I have half of them in the yard in a dog crate, to give them more space, which they seem to be enjoying. I hope they don't outgrow the brooder before they're hardy enough to move to the coop.
