The last of my ducklings are out of the house and in the big brooder in the garage. And I'm done. I feel like I've had ducks in the house for months and months without end. ( Oh gees maybe because I HAVE!!!) I have 15 good breeder stock of the breeds I wanted and now and I'll either gather the eggs or let em hatch em as I want to... but my ducks in the house days are over!!!!!!!!!!!!! Over over over over. *happy dance*

At least until next year when I want to add those runners and cayugas. ( shhhhhh don't tell my husband!)

Congratulations! After today, I can almost feel your relief! Enjoy the freedom, well, until next year anyway...LOL..

Now is the time to start planning on that brooder box/cage for out in the coop so you will not have to put them in the house.

Mine are two weeks old but I do carry them from their brooder cage (which is inside the large coop) to their play area each day it is not raining and weather permitting. I had to clean out the brooder today as the smell was overwhelming!

But a few pitchfork fulls and we were down to clean shavings.

If your garage is secure then maybe you can build a brooder up off the ground for next year?

I am still at the in and out stage! Out during the day, in at night. Soon out for good! They can't wait and neither can I !

Oh believe me, I understand!! Today all our goslings and ducks went outside for good! I was doing the happy dance!

Of course I have 80 duck eggs in the incubators so I'll have more ducklings soon. They should begin to hatch starting on the 12th!

80 ducklings? I must have lost my mind!

LOL today seems to be the day, the last of mine went out today too! They look too tiny to go out, but the runners are 4 weeks old and there are 19 other ducks outside so they'll be fine.

I know how ya feel! Im making the transition now, off the back porch and into the yard! They arent ready for the big kid pen as of yet but they are off the covered patio!

Congrats!

I have wks to go too...in and out stage...but they LOVE their outside time so I can't wait for it to be fulltime!

This will be their third night in their outside home, but the temperatures are expected to drop into the 30s starting tomorrow night, so a few more in and out days - but we can lock them securely outdoors, which frees us to actually leave the premises. sigh.
