I've only had chickens for 2 months now, but I'm wanting to learn more in the future.

I was just wondering, when you buy hatching eggs, are they completely unincubated and then when you receive them, you incubate them yourself? If so, then at what temperature are they when they're shipped? How long can they be stored before incubating and at what temp?

I realize that a hen will lay a whole clutch before beginning to brood, but what's the norm when all is done artificially?

Thanks from someone completely not "in the know," so to speak.

i am a newbie also but they don't come incubated you need to find out how old they are from whom you got them from they say to keep them cool and little side down and to rest for 8 to 24 hours before incubating and they can be from 10 to 11 days old this is just info i have gathered, learning also.
