I'm confused :( and need help

It is not uncommon for EE's to lay brown or pink eggs.

I know

I was just hoping she would lay blue or green

Okay today I watched all day and I only got one egg and for sure it was my Barred Rock. My EE didn't go in the nesting box at all today, she just hanged out around the entrance while her sissy laid an egg :3 I will watch again tomorrow to make sure if my EE is laying or not

I doubt your EE layer that if it is only the second day that your BR is laying. EE take longer to mature and lay later than barred rocks due.

Okay :D my EE will be 20 weeks soon, but I haven't seen her squat or sit in a nesting box, so it was strange to find two brown eggs in their play pen in one day lol.!

I think it was your barred rock. Their egg cycles will be confused at first, that may be the reason. I now have 16 EE. I love them all dearly, and could never get rid of them, but it kinda makes blue eggs less eggsciting. (overused egg pun

I'm just so excited to prove to my dad chickens can lay blue eggs naturally haha.!
Oh wow.! :D do any look like mine.? The brown one in my avatar picture.? About how old where yours when they started laying if you can remember :)

I think mine were all around 8 months but that is only because they were fall babies and had to wait all the way to spring. I had a few spring babies that layer at 6 months. I have a few that are currently a little over a year, and about a dozen chickies
