I'm confused

I've had a dove for awhile now. And we been back and fourth to know what the gender is. First, we say a boy then a girl and them back to a boy. We call him Lucas by the way. But today morning we see an egg. I'm very confused. He coos and he does his little laugh. I'm not sure what the gender is.

My guess is a girl but I could be wrong Just kidding males don’t lay eggs.
