My baby rooster was chirping so much all the time even when he was supposed to be slept but he could eat, drink and run like ever. All the physical activities were fine .Even when i put him in my hand he was still chirping but lower and more relaxed. I put him on a warm jelly and and i went to sleep. Around 1 hour later he wasn't able to walk and stand.***HE WAS CHIRPING ALL THE TIME WHEN I WAS SLEEP***
He was sitting on his butt. Before that his wings were hanging a little bit but i didn't care since he could eat and drink and run and pee and i thought its just his wings are growing feathers. I put him out side and he was trying so much to reach himself under my hand while having weak legs. He was still chirping so much but at least could move his whole body. I hugged him with my hand and slowly he started being paralyzed and not being able to move at all unless needed like when his beak was wet. But when i wet hir beak he could move his head very fast and shake it. After a while he wasn't chirping anymore. I tried to give him more water so he started opening and closing his mouth. ***HE WAS TRYING TO JUMP VERY RANDOM AND MOVE ALL OF HIS MUSCLE SOMETIMES even when he looks paralyzed***
Then he even opened his eyes but
At the very end he chirped again and was moving himself a lot even his legs like trying to jump out of my hand then he was his shaking head like three times and died.
The whole process was about in 30 minutes from chirping a lot to die.
His sister died this morning and it started with not being to stand and keeping balance and closing her eyes. But it took a day for her to die.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Next time you get chicks (and I hope you do), you must be prepared to keep them warm. They need to be about 90°F for the first week. So you need a special little heater they can snuggle up underneath, like tthey would under a mama hen. When chicks chirp all the time like that, it generally means they are cold, and as you found out, they can die. Each week they need less and less heat until they get all their feathers.

You also need a safe place to keep them when they are ready to go outside, at about 5 weeks old. It must be a place that predators like dogs, cats, coyotes or raccoons can't get into. They need grit to help them digest their food. They can be a lot of fun but they need care. Good luck!
