I'm excited, we got our first eggs!!!

We are jumping for joy here at the Miller homestead smack dab in the middle of suburbia. Our littlest chicken Nene (named by my two year old) layed the first eggs. My husband says all the others are freeloaders and at least Nene is working for her food. Mind you she is a Brahma bantam so you imagine the eggs are small but hey, it fills up my two year old. He's so happy he likes to go out to the hen house and thank her for the eggs. Like I said we're jumping for joy!!!

Congratulations on your first egg!!!

The eggs are small when they first start to lay. They may even skip some days while their bodies age adjusting. It is so much fun to go out and collect the eggs. Every day is like Christmas and the birds are giving us christmas presents.
