I'm floodthelast and am fixing up an old cement shed coop on the property I just bought. I have four somewhat mysterious bantam chicks. One is definitely crowing. They are approx. 6wks? I am also picking out four grown egg layers sometime in the next two weeks. Today I'm planning on building my chicken run and the coop interior is almost finished. Life is crazy.

Thank you all! I do plan on getting new pics and posting over at what breed gender thread. I did a lot of reading there but am still baffled. We finished painting the interior of my coop and got my run framed out. Now for door building, top netting and chicken wiring everything.

Turns out since last I posted I have one hen and three roosters. I will try keeping one rooster and a friend is taking one but that still leaves one extra. I imagine there are trading or selling forums here?
