Or rather, after 14 years of wanting, I'm finally seeing why my husband has always wanted chickens. I thought I would have to "convince" him but all I did was mention it and he jumped on the wagon. Shoot, he'd have gone out and gotten started on building a coop today if I had let him. Maybe I should have?

Anyways, I'm excited to start! I grew up in the city and didn't "get it" until our vacation to hubbys native Dominican Republic where I fell in love with the nosy little biddies following us and gossiping about us, lol. Now I want my own girls.

Welcome, Claudia! Just a bit of advice: NEVER say "NO" to anything DH wants to do to aid in your newly found chicken addiction!

I live in Ontario Canada and have gotten chickens from the local hardware store. I was wondering where I could go to get other breeds.since the hardware store only has a few popular meet egg chickens.
