I'm getting new Muscovy ducks tomorrow *dancing* Updated with pics

Just wondering where I could order some muscovey ducklings from....I used to raise poultry/ducks years ago.....Now in a position to raise them and enjoy them.

Kentucky here - but moving back to upstate NY in a few weeks.

Laurie, I am so glad some of my duckies are now your duckies. Your place is awesome! I love George & Martha.

Depends on if they are from the meat line or the wild line. Pretty much when they are fully feathered, boys hiss and girls "warble". You can also look at their feet (big feet = male) but that is much less accurate as some females have bigger feet than others. Males are bigger (much bigger in meaties) and their necks are long and thick but again that is not the most accurate way to tell. Males will also mount each other so mating is not an automatic indicator.

Nope, I will add a picture today so you can see him. His name's manly. The one you are looking at is a girl though I have had people convinced she is a boy. She has big feet and lots of carbuncles but she is from one of the wild lines where the females look more robust. You should hear here warble, she is one of my noisiest girls though compared to other ducks she is practicly mute.

I LOVE these ladies! They're putting my boys in their place. And Lisa, that one they were beating on is a girl. I picked her up and she definitely made the sound you said she would if she was a girl. I can't figure out why they're doing that to her. I have her back in the bird house in a cage. Her wings were all bloody from them beating on her. Poor baby.

After you left I was out there sitting with them taking pics. I'll upload them when I get back. I have to bring the Call ducks to Kim over in VA.

I loved meeting you, Brian, and Justin! You need to take pics of George & Martha once they get settled in! And the Pekins!! ROFL!! I hope Dawn likes her little gander, too!

HUGSSSSSS

. Sorry she got beat up, maybe after she heals a little she will get some protection from having more girls in there. My girls are used to my drake which is as gentle as could be with them. Martha and George are still getting settled in so I took some pics of my remaining flock for you and the others.

Though often mistaken for a drake, she's a beautiful girl.

The George and Martha are happily nibbling on my fingers and are all settled in but the batteries in my camera died. This just figures.
