You read about it on here and you never think it will happen to you.

My Cinnamon Queen the laying machine is through. I went into the coop tonight to check out the chickens and she was sitting in the corner by the waterer.

I picked her up to put her on a roost and she felt heavy... I squeezed her abdomen a little to see what I could feel and she had a ton of what looked like 'white' pus come out of her vent. If she's not dead in the morning, I will try and put her out of her misery quickly. Makes me sick I have to do this.

When Vanessa in Glendale gets some more CQs I'll get a couple from her when they are 15 weeks.

This will take a while to get over.

So sorry. How awful for you... I'm dreading the day my time comes.

So sorry- we're right there with you, literally… just waiting a few more days to see if mine can beat the odds. Apparently there are a lot of people going through the same thing right now, for various reasons/illnesses.

Oh no! I am so sorry! I know how hard this is for you, and my thoughts are with you. Praying that nature does it so you don't have to!

Oh, I am so sorry. This is so hard. If you can, try to keep in mind that you are doing the loving thing for your Cinnamon Queen. It sounds like she was a wonderful hen and lived a great life. Hugs to you.

Oh, I'm sorry. I had a hen die on Monday that had the "white puss" coming from her vent. She was an internal layer. At least she won't suffer any longer.
