In the past few weeks I've had some wild visitors...
First the cousins come to visit, that meaning wild Mallards landed in the yard and hung out for a while. My ducks were unimpressed.
Another day, black bellied whistling ducks landed on the roof. my ducks were extremely confused by this.
Today, I come home from to see another mallard walking through my yard. And I see these little yellow and brown things following her. She brought the kids! She swam in the pool for a little bit and at the moment is still in my yard.

I'm wondering how she even got them into the yard. We're fenced in
If this keeps up I'm going to be the Duck Resort of the neighborhood.

LOL..how cute...look around for holes in the fence maybe?

It's a chain link fence around most of my yard. These are little tiny babies. They can fit through the links. I'm wondering if mama actually has a nest somewhere in my yard. There is an area in the back I don't mess with. I disturbed a nighthawk back there one time, so I have some uncommon wildlife hanging around

Mama a bill?? well she could probably use a spare. :p

So cute a story I love the idea of a bird resort be sure to post pics of all the clientele when they arrive.

I was feeling the same way this spring...A young Mallard Drake came here daily to try to get at my Hens....My Drakes were not impressed at all.....
Possibly that Drake you seen was the father and mate to the Hen with the Ducklings....Mallards only breed and raise their young for the season....He must of known she was their.....

Cute story.....:thumbsup
