I'm gonna get a new roo?

One would do the trick. You might have fighting with 2. I have 3 roos and probably 200 hens. I get a 75-85% fertility rate with those boys!

Do yourself a favor and get ONE MATURE ROOSTER. Don't give in to the urge to get a young rooster. The hens will love a mature guy, but HATE an immature trespasser. Good hunting.......Pop

Yup !! Your right & thats what I was thinking. I think ones the answer.

I have 4 pullets and 4 cockrels (speckled sussex) in the same pen - all hatched in June/July. I am getting eggs, but they aren't fertile. Do the cockrels' mature later than the pullets?

What usually happens, in your case, is that the copitition is so great among the cockerals, that nobody gets to complete the deed............Pop
