Im at 20 that leaves 119 eggs left.they started hatching this morning around 6 am, should I go ahead and take them out or wait I don't know if I will be up at 6 in the morning and I don't want them to die on me. some are still wet and some are dry as a bone they are chirping their little heads off like they are starving. oh and how do I dip their beaks in water?
cept I dont even use shiney things anymore. If the brooder is empty when im putting new chicks in teh first few I do put the tip of their beaks in the water...say theres 10 chicks in the brooder, I dip 5 of the chicks beaks...once a few know they all learn from eachother. Otherwise I don't even show them how because my brooder always has chicks in it lol.
sorry but how do you make them eat? I have the feed ground up like cornmeal but they wont eat.I have dipped beaks and dipped beaks and they wont drink all they are doing is peeping. and huddling up in a big bunch. I have them in a rubbermaid storage box that we turned into a brooder box a 100 watt light bulb and they are still acting like they are freezing to death temp under light is almost 100 degrees. any help would be greatly appreciated.
15 more in the hatcher after we removed the first one that hatched yesterday and last night. so as of right now we have about 45-50 plus more pipped and zipping!!! oh and I got them to eat and drink yes Im sure they are all over the place now running and jumping everywhere
