Hello to everyone. We are 3 1/2 mos. into my wife's b-day present.(yes, chickens....) and all is good so far. Took a lot longer building the coop than expected but it came out nice. When i figure how to post pics I'll put them up on our page along with the ladies. We did lose 1 chicken to something health related so we have a nice flock of 9 now. They are social little things too. We (errrrr, my wife) got the first 3 eggs over the past couple of days so we are in the process of switching to layer feed now. A little ahead of schedule. it's addicting can't you tell?

It is addictive. My husband got me my four hens for my birthday. I have already had loads of questions answered on the forum. My husband has built a great coop but made a little mistake today. He was putting windows in and got one of the door the wrong way round.

Wow aren't you the nice hubby!! I wish mine was as nice.. but I have to say he did buy me a beautiful new shed for the chickens.. but it was because he wanted his garage back...

He complains how much it has cost... but that was his decision..my son was going to build me one out of lumber he has left over.... but hubby of mine could not wait...

This week my son put me in two new windows... he went to home depot... and just told his dad to pay up...

Don't know what I would do with out my son...

I take care of them... and that is the way the hubby likes it... he never goes back...unless to help the son ...

I say this again... the chickens are much easier to raise than dogs or cats... and just as clean.. you have to scoop kitty litter or doggy poop too. At least the chickens will give you eggs in return.. or maybe soup..

I am sooo pleased I decided to get chickens. I had now idea they would be this easy to look after. They are so entertaining to watch. My hubby may disagree as he did put all the work into the coop, but he will be the first to have the eggs.
