Between my seven year old's case of poison ivy and the tick I pulled off my two year old, I'm ITCHY! Why does my mind trick me like this? It's driving me NUTSO!

I so hate that! LOL Some kids in the neighborhood came down with lice, and oh it made my head itch something terrible. I hope you are feeling better soon.

So sorry for your child's exposure to poison ivy. My dd got into it a year or so ago, it was the worst case I'd ever seen. She had put the leaves in her mouth, and caused her lips to swell something awful. It was a long battle with prednisone, ice, and more ice, and Benadryl. This child on steroids is not pretty. She completely fell apart, and cried over everything. Hope your child is feeling better soon.

ewwwww. ... you got a case of the creepy crawlies! Followed by the heebee jeebees! LOL!

Just reading the word lice..had me scratching my head...

A new girl had started at my daughters school-and came home with her for the afternoon later that week. The poor girl had 100's of lice and 1000's of eggs in her hair. I saw it after about 5 minutes and couldnt beileve it. She told me her mum knew but didnt have the money for treatment.. I couldnt believe what I was hearing. I organinsed for the girl to come back and sleep the night so I could treat her hair. 6 hours of combing after the treatment.. I was nearly puking at times. It was the saddest thing.... I hate the mention of lice now.

I used to work in an elementary school and occasionally had to check a child's head for head lice. Would scratch my own head for the rest of the day, whether I found any or not. The mind is a wonderful thing.

Well, she seems to be getting a little better. Went to the pediatrician this am. Ordinarily, I would just treat at home but it's on her face and getting very close to her eyes and mouth. So, she's on pred now, with some hydro cortisone cream and alcohol to dry it out. Yippee! hopefully we've got it under control. Thanks all, for the sympathetic itching, it's nice to know I'm not alone

urg just the thought of lice, used to work in a daycare, one kid always would bring it in, they didn't do what was needed at home to elliminate them so they kept getting reinfested, I never want to go through that again. (makes me want to go wash my hair just thinking about it.)

A nice hot bath or shower will probably help get the gross and itchy thoughts gone, even if nothings really gross or causing the itch its still refreshing. Hope your daughter gets feeling better fast, poison ivy is so miserable.

And, the mom probably didn't clean the house real good either, so reinfestation. It is sooooooooo $$$$ to treat, but if you have ins. or a medical card the doctor will sometime call in a prescription so its not so bad. . .I think lice are becoming use to stuff too, especially the off brands, heard other people say the same thing. They are the nastiest things. ugh, now my head is itching. . .the mind is a powerful thing.

I had poison a couple of weeks ago with DS and we found "grandma's poison ivy soap" at Rural King. $5 for a little bar, but it works. A couple of good latherings (it doesn't suds much) and the itch was gone and it was starting to dry up.
