So I have stirred up quite a bit of interest among my coworkers about raising chickens. Me being the "expert" ( I try to get them to use the term loosely) people are wanting to start with just 2 or 3 hens and a very small coop but I can't find any plans on line and since the best place to look is this forum I am turning to all of you. So please send me some pics, plans, and if possible materials lists so I can get this little side business of getting people set up with their first small flock going. Thanks in advance.

Browse the "tractors" and "small coops" sections of the Coop Designs part of BYC -- link is along the very, very top of this page, in between "Breeds" and "BYC Store" -- for more designs than you can shake a stick at

Bear in mind however that small coops like that are rather hard to manage during an Ohio-type winter... it can be difficult (or nearly impossible) to satisfactorily balance ventilation, temperature and nondraftiness. So honestly there is a LOT to be said in favor of larger containers even if they only recieve a few chickens...

Good luck, have fun,

Pat
