hello everyone
i'm Armin ,23 from Iran , a university student
i've been reading on this website for a while but now i want to officially join u! :)
i had nothing to do with chickens and the joy of having them until THE DAY we decided to buy 6 little chicks for my little bro to have as pet...:) ( 6 was a lot to start with but we didn't really know what we were doing lol)
long story short, we ended up selling them all because they were starting to be messy and we weren't experienced enough, but later we bought a grown beautiful hen. we bought her because she was cuddly and calm and in a bad condition so we decided to rescue her and have her as pet , this way we would miss our previous chickens less ,too.
we named her Julie. she was the reason for me to start reading about chickens on the internet and find this great website :)

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! That's was so nice of you to rescue Julie if she was not in good condition. She sounds a lovely hen. I have chickens too that like to be petted and enjoy lap sitting too. They sure bring a lot of joy and pleasure to your life.

Wishing you the very best of luck with Julie in the future. Be sure to ask any questions that you may have, everyone here to help amd very friendly.

Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

thank you:)
i actually do have a question about what breed she is but i'm waiting for tomorrow so that i can take some decent pictures of her and ask my question in the right forum:)

Nice to meet you Armin, Welcome to Backyard chickens. I really like your avatar. Did you draw that? Have you checked out the Learning Center? It is a great way to learn about chickens.
