I'm new and have a question!

I'm new to this site and honestly pretty new to the idea of having chickens in my backyard. My wife suggested the idea and after doing some research I found this website. I think it sounds like a great idea, but my city doesn't currently allow us to keep chickens. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to change the policy here in Dyer, Indiana. I don't think the issue has ever really come up before which I think is a good sign. Any advice would be appreciated!
