I'm new and i have a question

My red star chick is about 2 months old. I'm worried about her leg. She is limping around. Does she have a broken leg or is it just sprained? She is with a barred rock about the same age. They are best buds! She is eating some corn that i give her and drinking. I have her in a box with her bud. She is limping pretty bad. What should i do?

I am no vet, was she limping before? check for splinters? maybe she sprained it, give her time to heal. hopefully it will get better !

! Glad you joined us. Sorry to hear about your gimpy redstar. Without more information any advice I could give would just be a guess. Have you looked at her feet? Any swelling between the toes or on the foot pad? Something called bumblefoot is a possibility, although this usually afflicts older, heavier birds. You might post over on the Emergencies/Diseases/Injuries & Cures forum. Someone there will be able to help you or at least point you in the right direction. Best of luck to you!!
