I'm new around here!

Hello everyone! I am new to BYC and chickeneering and am looking forward to the wealth of information here in these pages! I live in SouthCentral Kansas and am currently raising chickens in town, so I'm limited to the number in my flock and no roos allowed. It gets hot in the summer and can be very cold in the winter, so heat and cold hearty birds here. I started our flock with 2 buff orpington, 1 RIR, and 1 black wyandotte.

It gets hot here-- more than 20 days over 100 and regularly up to 110.

Chickens start having trouble over 95F. They need shade and lots of water in temps like that.
