Welcome to BYC! So sorry that you lost your chickens and ducks. I hope you can get the upper hand!

Regarding the losses to hawks many members have reported good success preventing their attacks by stringing Fishing line over their runs. Since I'm guessing you are from IL I'm assuming you have been suffering from Northern Goshawks who appear to be highly nimble in dense brush I don't know how much mileage you can get from that but it might be worth a try. I've always given myself the giggles thinking a fishing longline might be more effective.
