You found a great spot to land here. I'm new, too, and everyone is super helpful.

I'm working on my coop, too, and I also had the idea to add raised floor vents (so bedding doesn't clog them). I'm making hardware covered 6"Hx4"Wx4'L framed floor openings at the base of my vented wall. Since the wall is going to have 2 large screened openings, I thought the floor vents could act as double duty and also allow any precipitation that comes through (while shuttered during rainy weather) to drain out at the bottom through the vents. :)
