Hey my name is Isaac, and I'm new here!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I first got chickens 2 years ago, and I am not new to them.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I currently have 25 chickens (6 roosters, and 19 hens).
(3) What breeds do you have?
A whole mix. 2 Astralorps, 4 Buff orphingtons, 2 lavender orphingtons, 2 bard rocks, 3 Rhode island red, 1 buckeye, 3 americaunas, 2 silver laced Wyandottes. (Hens). 1 lavender orphinton, 2 guineas, 1 Buckeye, and 2 Polish (white-crested). (Roosters)
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
The eggs, I like the roosters, one is considered a pet.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Funny thing is, I enjoy video games, movies, and playing basketball.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My wife and I share a 5 acre farm, and the only livestock we have currently are our chickens. My 13 year old son lives with us, and enjoys sports and video games. We also have 4 indoor only cats.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
We've read threads on here before to help answer questions. We saved one of our Silver-laced Wyandottes with this website's help.
