Hello! Just joining after lurking for about a year.
I got my first 4 hens in October from a neighbor. Promptly fell in love with them and ordered 4 more chicks, which arrived in April.
I have 3 Opringtons (buff, BBS, lavender), 2 easter eggers, 1 barred rock, and 1 exchequer legbar.
I love everything about these birds and spoil them as much as I can. I'm a big fan of "pets with jobs" but I pay well! I am in the process of building them a larger coop run than we have now. We live in a rural area so I lots of room for them (but also lots of predators, so free-ranging is a challenge right now - we just lost a chick to a fox, and my barred rock was badly injured in the same attack).
