Hello all as you can tell I'm new here, so I'm thinking of keeping some hens in my garden only 3 to start with to see how I get on planning on making my own coupe I've got like concrete part of garden and thinking of keeping them there putting mud down and grass part for them there is a Polly roof over the top but can easily be taken down so at the min I'm looking for advice and pros and cons and anything else I should know before I get any thanks for your help

You might consider using sand. It stays dry when wet, easy to clean and maintain, soft of the foot pads, keeps the flies away and the stink. Here is a nice thread on sand that you might want to read thru. Sand is all I use everywhere. I am hooked!!.....
