I'm new-ish here...

I am very new here. Came across a post about Bresse Farms in Mississippi and said to myself, "these are my people ".
Raising chickens and preserving endangered breeds has become my passion. American Bresse and working on getting the breed recognized is also a passion of mine. I wanted a sustainable flock for meat and eggs and they fit the bill.
I touched on my nasty encounter with Justin in another post. I only have one rooster left from his farm. That rooster is going to help me teach Justin what his birds could be if he only took the time to do his job right.

The blue on the right is the only one I saved from freezer camp. For a blue his coloring is lacking in black. The dark Grey should all be black. He is big for a blue. They are usually the smallest of the American Bresse. I have invested in some quality Black Bresse to pair with him. It may take me a few generations but my goal is this.

Now that is what a blue bresse should look like. Yes, I have lofty goals. Wish me luck.
