Hello. Im starting a farm and wish to start with chickens. Any advice on the type of chicken or coop?

I wish to have chickens on free roam. Wish to only harvest eggs. I am open to suggestions on what else a chicken can provide.

Can i use the feathers for something?

I heard the chicken will break the egg?

I will also be producing honney with 2 standard hives. From there i will obtain more animals.

I will also have a garden for veggies and build a greenhouse myself. I like raised beds for obvious reasons.

Woodworking is also intense homework. I got the basics but still a bit rusty on what goes where and why. Measuring i stink at and practice will make better and better.

Again. Any help advice or just a hi would be appreciated. I wish to learn from the wise.

Thank you

Hello and :welcome There's many friendly, knowledgeable members here who are always happy to help if needed, or simply just join in the chicken chat! My advice would be to build a BIG coop (you're certain to want to add more chickens!) or convert a shed; that will be better than the flimsy pre made coops. Great to have you here and good luck with your farm.
