I am a 26-year old nursing student, mother of 2, married to a fab husband for 7 years. We live in a subdivision, but we are rural and the subdivision is surrounded by horse farms. We have another neighbor with chickens- and even one with a pig! I am really excited to be picking up my baby chicks today- I'm getting 5. I'm sorry if my spelling is horrendous- but I think I'm going to get 2 Austrolorps, 1 RIR, 1 Leghorn, and 1 Arucuana. My kids are THRILLED to be getting them. They hatched on Wednesday. They've been asking me 100 times a day "When are we picking up our chicks!?". My oldest has already named hers Cinderella.
My husband is a little skeptical about the whole thing- but supportive. He already has a plan for the coop. He's such a good guy- supporting me in my crazy hobbies.
Anyways- this forum has been an excellent resource- I look forward to getting to know you!
