I'm new to chicks and something is wrong

It was 18% and so is the new one. I forget the name at the moment (it's in the garage). Would a regular Southern Ag have Corid?

18% is common. Just make sure it is a starter/grower ration. I keep them on a starter/grower until about 5 months when they are getting ready to produce eggs. Most feed stores carry Corid liquid or powder packets. Call your local ones in the morning to make sure they have it in stock. Get some Probios dispersible powder and Sav-A-Chick, or whatever vitamin-electrolyte powder they might carry while you are at it. You will use it immediately after Corid treatment. Good luck, my friend. I'll say a prayer for the chicks.

They haven't had anything other than starter. I'm positive it's coccidiosis. Poor girls. The EE isn't going to make it. I may have caught the buffs in time-they've perked up a bit since having the Corid. And my week old baby barred rock has it too-but looks much better after Corid and nutridrench. Talk about an emotional roller coaster. The 2 that look ok are getting Corid as well just in case and they all now have medicated feed. Keeping my fingers crossed.

They don't want to eat their new feed. They've been spoiled :) lol they're digging and scratching for the remains of their other food

This has been very distressing-medicated feed with the Corid or non-medicated feed?! The EE that's the worst has non-medicated. I have the rest new medicated feed. They don't like it and aren't eating so I have them their other feed back and they devoured it. The learning curve on all of this is enormous.

I would feed them what they like. If you can find a 20%protein flock raiser or chick feed, I would keep them on that forever until they are old enough to lay (usually after 20 weeks.) Sorry you are having such trouble with cocci. Try not to get confused by all of the suggestions. Corid will be good. When I started with chicks I used medicated feed and they did fine, but I don't use it anymore. Now, I just put a large piece of dirt with grass into the brooder at day one to slowly expose them to my soil. They eat non-medicated chick starter, and yes, I use ACV in their water (1 tablespoonful per gallon) because I think it works. Hope your chicks get better soon.

It is confusing to you because you haven't paid attention. You originally stated you were using non-medicated feed. That is why you were advised to use Corid (Amprolium) in the chick(s) water. You cannot use both medicated feed and Corid supplemented water at the same time or you are overdosing them. You must use one or the other.
