Here at Gate 13 Studio & Stable in the lovely wet Pacific Northwest, we started our chicken experience Mothers Day this last year. After three years settling into our new rural horse farm life it was time to add the chickens. It's been a trove of experiences since... Some funny, some sad, all educational.

You'll find BYC folks are very friendly and knowledgeable and are always eager to help!

HOWDY, Annepona!

Good to see you here on BYC. I had chickens some 25 years ago. Now that I've retired, I decided to get chicks again this past May 18. Finally finished their coop at the end of September.

I love my chickens AND I love the help and info here on BYC. I should'a found it earlier and avoided some mistakes.

My bro recently moved near Seattle where he married and acquired an instant family of (3) youngsters. I sure hope they don't wear the old man out. Me? I spent one year in beautiful Portland, OR during my mis-spent youth.

I have a serious case of envy for your growing conditions along the rainforest-ed Pacific northwest. Here I am blabbering on. Welcome!

Hi! Welcome to BYC. I'm relatively new here too. There's a lot of great advice to be heard here.
