I'm new with hens

Could be under stress from former treatment and the move. It is not uncommon for hens to stop laying for a while after being moved to a new environment.

Chickens need about 14 hours of sunlight to lay eggs. Use incandescent lights florescent doesn't work. Try putting a 60 watt bulb in the coop on a timer.

When I got a couple hens from a friend and moved them to my house it took them a month and 1/2 to begin to lay again even though they laid really well for her. The change really stresses them out for a while.

What the poster above said. Also, if you decide you want to give them extra hours of light on a timer, it's better to set it to come on in the morning than night. At night, it can be stressful to all-of-a-sudden be in the pitch black. What if they're on the floor and can't see the roost. If the light comes on in the morning, it's more natural. This is what I've read anyway. I don't use artificial light.

also give them dry kitten food... sounds like a nutrition thing and stress of the move.. give them time to recover
