hi, Im new, My name is chris, Im 21 and iv been keeping chickens for a year now, and iv been bitten by the bug!
we started with 4 layers, 2 of which escaped and run off, we bought another four which along with a purchase of a buff orpington bantam, lived happily in the garden for many months leaving me eggs.
Iv also kept light sussex, appenzellea (sp?) leg horns, jap bantams which all got on with the layers
Until the fox got them,
all 11 of them
However they did not die in vain!..
Iv converted my large shed into a new coop for new chicken, which is lovely and warm (and extremly fox proof!)
Since the death of my old friends iv purchased 3 lavender pekin bantams (13 weeks)
1 sumatra, a few polands and a barnvelder.
Iv just extended my hobby by hatching my first chick!!
