I'm new

Hey I'm gigee. I am just finishing up my coop today. I have a rooster that my sister brought me from texas. so now I am looking for him 2 or 3 girlfriends. I had chickens as a child but that was a long time ago. I am in Mississippi. any suggestions.

So glad you could join our community! You will need more than a few hens for your boy. The proper ratio is 1 roo to 8 to 10 hens. If you don't have enough hens, roosters can over mate the hens, causing a lot of injuries, feather loss and he can even mate them to death. So consider more hens.
