I'm not carpenter but I'm proud!

Great job on your roll out nest box you will like that much better than a conventional nest box. Make sure your nest box is below the roost so the won't want to roost in it.

You can put a false floor in with some carpet runner stapled to it and when it gets dirty just pull it out and knock the feathers and stuff they bring in on their feet. Worst case if someone poops in there you could hose it off. The only poop I've seen so far fell off their feet.

Here is a photo of the material. That commercial material is very expensive, carpet runner is cheap. The small one is the first egg they laid in the nest box, the big ones are ceramic eggs lol.

Here I took some old car siding and made a false floor, I used a broom stick handle to push it up so I could slide it out for cleaning.

Thanks! I love doing projects, I'm actually the handy one in our little family. I've never taken on something this big so I'm anxious to get started and see how it turns out.
You can check out my thread, Helpful Hints for Building coops. I put lots of pictures in about how i built my coop ,while hubby was on vacation.

Thanks! My back is killing me lol. I don't have a proper workbench. Only a skill saw, a drill, and a hammer.
With those three tools you can build a good workbench to fit your height and save the back. I built two at standing height and the second 6-8 inches lower for my back issues. I put on swivel casters. Check internet for simple strong ideas. Your back will thank you.
