I'm not even a beginner, but I want to start in Kalamazoo Michigan

Hello from the Upper Peninsula! I assure you that if I can raise chickens up here, you should have no problems!

In fact we got almost another foot of snow in the last 24 hours. I do not even heat my coop in the winter, but it is important to have a well insulated/ yet ventilated coop. The main issue I have is that my chickens do not like to go outside in the snow and so they are in the coup for like 6 months strait. So make sure you have plenty of room in your coop. Also some laws in Michigan can be kind of tricky, so check your local ordinances about how many chickens you can have and whether you can have roos.
