Same here. We also don’t have a police station and town hall is in a trailer that looks like it’s from the 70s! According to the 2020 census we had a population of less than 500 last year!
Tiny🤣
Our police station is an actual shed. It's so cute but kinda scary, there's no way I would go into it.
What’s a police station?
Meanwhile ours is huge and they actually just built this new one a few years ago 🤣 well, I guess maybe 10 years ago according to Google (man, I’m old 🤣😭) and the new fire station not long before that. Spent 6+ million on the police station and idek how much for the fire station. Millions on a new high school too which they finished in 2014. Combined high school and middle school. Teared down the old one and built an athletic complex instead.

Do y'all have a high crime rate?

They do a lot of Police/Fire combo stations here. Smaller buildings that house 2-3 fire trucks and 4-6 squad cars, plus a few offices and the support infra for them. They may have a couple holding cells, or they may not, depends on the building. They sprinkle them out every few square miles to put first response resources close, and then have larger "main precinct" style buildings in a few areas.

Thinking about this as I type, our "smaller" buildings may be some place's entire police/fire presence. :p

Yeah I don’t get why they didn’t do a combo. The one is only right down the road from the other hah

That’s insane to me. It’s 15 miles to the closest police station and I think we’ve only got two (maybe 3) in the whole county. And that’s with us being relatively high crime for a rural area (lots and lots of drug activity). The closest school is k-12 in the same building single level. I believe it was built in the 60s.
