Coops have that little door for the chickens to go into the run. If you have an enclosed run do you need to close that door at night and make sure all the chickens have come in to roost? or do they bed themselves down at night and leaving the little door open is OK?

Depends on your predator situation and how secure your run is.

if the run is reasonably secure given the predator threat, then it's OK to leave the door open all the time.

When you first move them in, you will probably have to round them up around twilight and shove them in the coop for a few evenings so they will learn where to sleep. Once they figure it out, they will put themselves to bed and will be up with the ....well...chickens!

at first as above round them up, and show them, then if the runs secure leave the door open, i acsionly sleep in and if i would forget it they might hurt me if there stuck in it till about 11.00 am..lol

yes close your hen door at nite.because coons possums an skunks can get in there.an they can an will kill your chickens.
