Im not sure what this is help please

can someone zoom this in and tell me what it is? i got it off one of my hens that is sick....could this be the cause?

That looks like lice. They often get out of control on sick chickens. I would dust her with a pyrethrin based poultry dust. More than likely something else internally is going on with her though.

I would definitely treat her with the permethrin, but I'm like @oldhenlikesdogs she may have something else going on too.

When was the last time she laid an egg?

Check her body condition for weight loss, make sure her crop is emptying overnight and feel the abdomen for any signs of bloat/swelling or fluid.

From the photo she is not well at all. I would try to get her hydrated, if you have some poultry nutri-drench give her a direct dose of 1cc per 3pounds of weight. Once she is drinking, then offer her some food.
