As many of you know I came into chicken keeping sort of accidentally-on-purpose... our neighbor's house burned down and they had to leave
and move across town until their house could be rebuilt. I volunteered to take care of their chicken, Henrietta, while they were gone and had no
idea how much I would fall in love with her (and absolutely no clue how to care for a chicken..). Well, fast forward 6+months and I am wildly in love with
Henrietta and as the neighbor's house has slowly been getting rebuilt I've been mourning the day that they would move back in and my chicken-sitting days
would be over. Well, yesterday the neighbors stopped by to see how construction was coming and they asked if I would like them to move her coop over to
our yard and have Henrietta become ours!
I am so happy!!!! I am no longer a chicken 'foster Mom'!!! We had planned to build our own coop and get baby chicks when the weather warmed up enough but the
idea of having to give Henrietta back was just killing me- as fun as new babies would be it'd be impossible to replace Henrietta I love her so much- now she's ours!!!
So I am doing the touchdown happy dance today and wanted to say a big thank you to everyone here who has been so generous with their time and experience
and knowledge and support!! Y'all are the best and I am so grateful for all your help!!
