I'm only getting about 3 eggs per day from 12 chickens

Have you looked at the sticky posts "Why aren't my hens laying?" Those will be far more comprehensive than anything you'll get in a thread like this.

Where are the sticky notes. I can't find them. I have a buff irpington that is supposed to be a 1.5 years old. She hasn't laid an egg since I got her (March 10), but the Speckled Sussex I got from the same lady at the same time laid an egg less than 24hrs after coming to my place.

Look in the light blue box at the very top of this forum. If you choose "Chicken Behaviors and Egglaying" from the drop down box at the end of each page and click go, you'll see the whole forum. There will be a light blue box above all the posts titled "sticky threads for this forum." One of them should address your problems.

Mine started laying! All week since last week, I've gotten 10 eggs per day! one welsummer isn't laying, or it is the chickens who's laying a shell less egg. I've had smashed egg in the box each day. but no trace of shells. so technically I'm getting 11 eggs per day. which makes my 4 year old hens pretty awesome if you ask me!
