I'm Probably Gonna Need My Hand Held Quail Hatch-A-Long

I got tired of listening to the crowing coming from the basement under the bedroom floor at all hours of the night. Apparently quail are not like chickens and don’t just hunker down and sleep when it goes dark.

I busted my butt yesterday and got the aviary set up yesterday and everyone got a scary tote ride out to it. Once released all they cared about was dust bathing. No fights so far.

This morning I checked the cameras and two raccoons and a fox came visiting. Both were foiled by the hardware cloth but there were a couple of times I heard the quail flush.

Doesn’t look like any one was hurt tho. Hopefully the critters lose interest when they realize they can’t get to them.

I have at least one male in the brooder that baby crows at 6am . . . I'm not a 6am person . . .

You’d never make it in this house then. Weekdays are a 4:30 am wake up because I have to be in work by 6am.

I . .um . . . sorry. I've only ever see 6am when I pull all nighters
