Today is day 21 for my wild turkey eggs! When I turned them this morning I noticed a gew of the eggs out of 18 were rocking back and forth and moving! I turned the eggs and when i came back this afternoon to turn them again one has a dent or crack pushing towards the chick??? guess it must have rolled and cracked or something anyways...Do you think this chick can hatch even with cracks now, and is it normal to see them moving this early?

Turkeys take 28 days to hatch. The one that is cracked is not good for the poult. You can try some candle wax on the crack. It might help. As far as rocking, I don't know. To me it's a little early, but I guess anything can happen. Good Luck!

Well its too much denting and cracks to use candle wax but ill just leave it and i guess it may hatch! As for the eggs rocking and moving this early im concerned...They probably need the full 28 days to develop properley and i just want them hatching a week early!

Last name is Hambright so you can see where the nickname came from...Do i continue to turn the eggs like normal even if they are moving? I am lost here and any help would be appreciated!!!

Off topic here, too ..... my hubby (and our 4 sons), have always been called, "Hambone," also. Our last name is Bonham.

Im worried that if i stop turning it could hurt ones that arent moving!!!! This is confusing! Is it normal for eggs to start moving a week early???? If so is it ok to turn them!!!!

I haven't had my eggs move before hatching, so I don't know. I would say your pretty safe if you quit turning. Turning was to let the embryos move around and not get lazy and lay in one spot to long. Now they are getting ready to hatch and they need to get into position.
