I'm Really Sick of This...Poison Options?

One time my husband put one of my little cockerals in the live trap and just set it out by the coop. Layed down in the back of the truck with the tail gate down and waited. Got two coons that night and the bird did not get physically hurt. That worked for us.

Whelp, didn't need the poison tonight. Dad went to lock up the birds and saw a possum up there at 9PM. Needless to say he killed it.

He put the poison down and went to pick it back up and saw another one at 4AM but this one scooted out of town before he could run back for his gun.

So...1 medium possum down...1 to go.

Ropo.. couldnt open the golden marlan link..

However I have been told by many a men around here that it kills everything that drinks it.. you are sposed to mix a can with coke and fill a pie dish .. The next morning there will be dead critter everywhere.. so put the dogs, cats, chickens etc away.. the one guy told me that he put it out and a couple days later he went out to see if it really worked.. there were 20 dead critters within 20 feet of the pan... coons, possums, even the coyote he was going for.. try it out..

Golden Marlan, which is really actually blue , go figure.. We use it in the garage up high for fly bait.

Just keep a eye open every night they will be back and might be more.. I had a possum problem here about a year ago. I got one a night for about a week or so.. My shotgun was like a credit card " never leave home without it "

Hey, you answered your own question. Put flour down and renew it whenever it rains. Safe and simple.
Our pet raccoon ate Golden Marlin one time. We had to call the vet to get the antidote, but she did survive and lived to a ripe old age. Cookie lived loose in the barn with our poultry. The only time we lost any was when she had a litter and taught them how to kill. After we rehomed the kits, it was back to normal. She would actually sit by the nest with our geese. Needless to say we didn't have any other predators get our flock.

It's hard to renew the flour when it's still raining. Which is when this thing decided to kill the chicks. It also likes to toy with me...drives me up the wall.

1 dead by a bullet, 1 dead from the poison. It crawled somewhere into the barn and we can't find it. Just glad it's dead!!!

We're keeping the poison out though for the others who want a piece of chicken on the run...

That's going to be a SMELLY barn soon.

It also likes to toy with me...drives me up the wall.

^^^^^ that's FUNNY - they're only after chicken dinner.

You would be better in the long run, if you secured your coop and locked them up at night.
