I noticed Trixie missing earlier today...hubby found what was left of her head a little while ago! Game on! I might have to sit up all night with a shotgun, but look out whoever did this!

Awwwwwww...am sooo sorry. She was beautiful. Sounds like a racoon. Hope you get it.

I have sat outside many a night enraged at what one of these has done. Shot several; so far so good this year.

All my chickens are locked up at night except for a few free rangers that roost VERY high up in a tree that I put a sheet of aluminum around as a barrier against 'coons climbing up it.

I agree with Bizzy sounds like a raccoon. Get a live trap and bait it if you don't want to sit up all night.

I have some and love them to pieces! I didn't know that a racoon would kill such a big bird!

She was beautiful!

Sorry for your loss! What color was she? She was absolutely GORGEOUS!!

I just lost all my pullets and chicks last week to a dog. It is just devastating.

It might be an owl, but raccoons can climb, too. Seems like you would have found more of her if it had been an owl or hawk. That is such a shame.
