Frankly, I wouldn't stock up on vitamins, they expire. Chickens generally don't need vitamins, if they are on a decent food. B complex is used to treat neurological conditions, but they don't need them on a regular basis, and are easy to pick up at human stores, if needed. Vit D is needed for calcium absorption IN THE RIGHT PROPORTION, which is why we recommend a calcium supplement with vit D as it is already in the right proportion. Adding D by itself can mess up absorption, and lead to an overdose. As previously stated, calcium citrate with vit D, good for emergency kit. I don't know if they have that at the dollar store, but that's not something that I would cheap out on, frankly. Everything else, vitamin wise, just no. You cannot always prepare for everything, that happens rarely. Sometimes, just knowing what to get, and where, and which stores are open late, is better than spending money on stuff you don't ever need and end up tossing. Now if you live high on a mountain top hundreds of miles from anything, that's different.
