Aw, anything bigger than them will do! You could seperate the duck and give it a cuddly toy to snuggle under? And a small mirror stuck to the side will trick it into thinking it has company too.

These are all eggs from my own hens, so we will have to wait and see how fertile they are. I know my pekin/hamburg roo is doing his job, but how many hens are letting him I don't know. And I have never seen the dutch one, Notty, at his job at all. We will see in a week. I am determined NOT to candle until day 7 this time, but I always end up with my torch in hand by day 5!!! I AM going to wait this time. My husband is going to go bananas, he honestly though he was done losing the dining table to chick brooders for this year!!!!

i got up this morning and took the towels of the ducks brooder then the pekin bantam brooder then the 2 chicks and ducks brooder and..........THE BLACK CHICK IS STANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

one of his legs feet are great but the other foot is still the same but hes getting stronger now so maybe tomorrow he'll be walking on both legs

That#s great news!! I spent nine hours outside in the baking heat (24 C here today) and finally finished my chick coop. Boy were they excited to get outside!!! I had to put them in tonight as the silly things didn't realise tat they could go inside the house, and were all snuggled up to the side of the shed. I'll post pics tomorrow...

the last quail died a a week ago.im going to hath quail or chickens soon. ive hatched and brooded chickens but never had them die like those quail did.but ill giveit another try im positive i can do it this time cause i think it was cause they were in the incubator and not a brooder anyway figured id give everyone an update
