Welcome to BYC! What breeds do you plan on getting? Or have you not decided?

Oh my gosh, sorry it took me a while to find my way around the site. I need to familiarize myself with the different breed and how they fare locally. I'm really only looking for layers, but no bantams. I want one of each color!

My name's Gillian Austin and I live in Portland, Oregon. I grew up on acreage and as a kid had my "pet" chickens. But now I'm looking to set up a backyard coop in the city and I'm thinking it's going to be quite different. I'm sure I will have questions as a go through the process, but I haven't had time to browse much of the information on here yet. So I look forward to meeting you all in due course!
