There's no doubt in my mind that our beloved pets go to Heaven. What kind of Heaven would it be if they didn't?

I'm so sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful cat.

That's so hard to do, and I'm so very sorry about your cat. I had to put down my lil sweety girl for the same reason.

Some vets do cremate them. Also, a lot of vets have started sending a ceramic paw print of your animal that they take after they put them down. I wish all vets did that, it would be nice for the people losing their animals to have a keepsake like that.

So very sorry for your loss! I've been there more than once. It's so very hard to lose a good friend.

Of course they go to heaven! There's a song on one of Jonathan Cain's (keyboard player for Journey) solo albums called "Man's Best Friend." There's a line in it that goes "If he don't make it to heaven, I don't wanna go." Too true!

As for the burying- no, you most certainly are not a bad owner! We also live in a place where you are not supposed to bury animals on your property. We always have our kitties cremated and I have all the ashes in their little cans on my book case. I keep saying I am going to scatter the ashes in the garden and put up some sort of memorial, but I just haven't been able to do it yet. You do what's right for you. you took good care of Rainbow while she lived, you loved her, and you both had those good years together. That's the important part, not whether you buried her body in your yard, or got her ashes back, or not.

Just remember all the good times and love and fun she brought to your life.

Here is the story of Rainbow:
I went to the humane society, and I was looking for a kitten/cat. I saw Rainbow with a litter of kittens, an 6 WEEKS old! I was going to adopt her Wegie (Nickname for them) sister. I ended up coming home with Rainbow (she should have still been nursing, at 6 WEEKS OLD!). She was so shy! I got her in 2006, she hid in her litter box, ALL the time. Everytime I reached in to pet her, she would go after me. After about a week, she would let be pet her. She was the sweetest kitty EVER! She LOVED to cuddle, be pet, LOVED other family members and even loved my dad! (who HATES Cats!).

So I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Wegie's!
